busyness

some of my girl friends from high school were in town, so we all got together & made pizza from scratch & enjoyed the company. two of them are married & own homes. one has a baby! one is a high school teacher. one lives between here & australia. it's crazy how old i feel sometimes - or rather how old i ought to feel. i still feel quite young!
speaking of time, miguel & i celebrated two months at the beginning of this month : ) he took me out for breakfast at the place that has the amazing custard french toast.

he wrote me a little love note & hid it for me to discover. it was shaped as a heart. he is so sweet & clever : ) & i just realized this now, i am pretty sure the paper he used is from the hotel we stayed at on our little trip! awww hehe.

miguel had never watched 500 days of summer before, so we had double movie nights & watched it. then the next day we went on a date to ikea : ) it was his first time there too. he quoted the movie & it was totally fun!

i found the kitchen & bedroom i want. & he found the ones that he liked : ) it was really a great day.

this is a little out of order, but before all of this it was easter! haha. miguel came with my family to visit my cousins on my dad side. he got to meet more of the family & enjoyed the good food & company. i wore this yellow vintage dress for the easter program at church. my parents were in it (my papi even played jesus!) so i wasn't going to miss it ;)
& now i am feeling a tiny bit under the weather (but i am feeling better already!) & had some ramen with egg & got all cozy & rested a bit. almost all better now!
tonight miguel & i are going to our city's "old town." i'm rather quite excited! :D

well, i've been quite busy with school & life & haven't had much time to blog or look at all of your blogs! i am taking this afternoon to try to catch up : )

also, is it busyness? or business? i am confused...

i went with my mom to celebrate her straight a's this semester at school at our favorite ice cream parlor. i love their holiday peppermint ice cream!
rachel & abbie came to visit & see my apartment. we had coffee & dessert at the old spaghetti factory & i took them to see the best christmas lights in the city. they even had an a christmas story scene (by the way, best christmas movie ever!)!

new & improved

hello everyone! i am sorry i haven't been blogging in quite a while & have not been commenting on your lovely blogs as well. i have been quite busy lately. a few days after i got back from visiting abbie in los angeles, i moved out of my parent's house to a different city! i've been busy settling in my new place & going to my graduate school classes. life has been pretty hectic! but i will try very hard to keep you all update like before : )

as you know, i went to los angeles for a week to visit my dear friend abbie. it was quite an adventure! we did so many cool things. abbie had the whole week planned out so perfectly. i want to show you ALL of the photos i took, but i believe that will be a tad overwhelming & take too long! so, here is the edited version of my trip:

i'm so light compared to abbie : )the cool walls inside the metroabbie surprised me & took me to the places in downtown la that they filmed 500 days of summer! this is the iconic park bench.& this is where tom met autumn at the end of the movie.i thought the ceiling of the observatory we went to looked neat.& of course, a vacation would not be a vacation for me with out some tasty vegetarian food! abbie took me to some of her favorite veggie places & some new ones. i'll link you to the places, if you are ever in the area : )

this is cafe muse. it's a really chill cafe with a mini art gallery & night time entertainment. serves only vegetarian food.mama's hot tamales cafe has some of the best tamales i have ever tasted.after a recommendation from liska, we checked out elf cafe. the food was absolutely amazing! & the place had a great atmosphere. serves only vegetarian food. (sorry the photos are bad quality!)the lights outside of lacma were so cool!i'll leave you with this creepy photo. i was taking pictures outside of lacma & the guy dressed as jesus was walking around posing. it was pretty strange. haha.

i'll be back to show you photos of abbie's awesome house!

replies:

jessica: oooo! a book that is going to be a movie? awesome. i'm going to check it out. thanks for the suggestion!
