crafting zine
things have been quite around here lately because i've been working on this baby! my first crafting zine! i'm so excited to share it with you & am pretty proud of how it turned out. i commissioned my good friend, melissa, to do the illustrations for it & i think it turned out great : )
you can pick up a copy from my etsy shop here.

crafting in april
i've been crafting a lot lately. i'll be selling my totes & lavender sachets (that i use to sell in my shop) at a local art walk on friday & have been adding to my inventory with melissa (who will be selling her bows!) during our sewing days.we will be sharing a booth/table. i'm excited just to see how it goes!
i've also been working on the crafting zine a bit, gathering inspiration from other crafting zines & confirming a contributor as well! i spent this morning at panera bread while miguel was at work, adding things to my zine & creating qr codes, etc. i can't wait until i finish with it & start assembling it.
just one more week until i leave to thailand! i won't be coming back until the last day of this month. it's going to be a great experience & i'm excited to see my sister.

crafting in february
i was lucky to have some pompom wire on hand to add to my valentines. i also used the app called over to create the cards!
lizzie, my mom, & i celebrated galentine's day together with brunch on february 13th. the one rule was that we had to come with handmade galentine cards ;)
my mom blew both lizzie & i away with her handmade cards! (the ones she is holding in the photo aren't hers but ours)
i also made a card for miguel using a photo that he had sent me found somewhere on instagram. it was perfect because he loves squirrels & i think kitties are awesome. i added some corny wordage & that was that ;)
he seemed to like it ;) hehe. he brought me home some valentine flowers & we cooked dinner together. we had never deep fried anything before, but everything turned out pretty well!
my shop had it's first etsy order! so i made some quick thank you notes with over & wrapped up the order all pretty : )
i've also been writing letters & getting packages together. i would really like to get some sort of zine made. i'm not quite sure about what kind of zine yet, but i would like to have something that i can trade for other zines. if any of you are zine makers, please let me know! i would like to network with you : )
one last thing - i booked my ticket to thailand! soon i'll be seeing my sister for a whole two weeks! yay!
link love:
- i visited my pastor's home last night to drop of some of my famous peanut butter cookies for his birthday & him & his wife have two energetic boys with toys around like they were having some serious fun. when i have kids, i think this collection of tips will be quite useful.
- i am in love with this kitchen. (i probably wouldn't want it for myself, but i am in love with it just the same.)
- these towels just seem so cool & stylish. i want one. or many ;)
- i have a package of gnocchi in the cupboard & i think i'll be making this recipe with it soon.
- i'm on kind of an air plant kick & am looking for a project for my arts & crafts group. this project might be a possibility for next month.
- loved these scarf styles from a cup of jo!
- i'll be making a trip to this new gallery/vintage shop/coffee shop/workshop in the near future!

vintage clothes & golden shoes
in the meantime, enjoy these "behind the scenes" photos! lizzie was kind enough to model for me & miguel was my "photoshoot assistant" ;) (he even brought us lunch!). we headed to the island in my city to use the old brick buildings as backgrounds. it really was a fun midday adventure!
after the photoshoot, miguel took me to a nice dinner with window seats & trees with lights. then we went home & watched the office.
yesterday, lizzie & i went shopping at plato's closet & i found these gold leather flats for only $3! i love them.
i wanted to sneak my golden shoes in my photos throughout the day. this one is when i got coffee & custard pie with my mom ;)
that's it for now! leaving you with love!
link love:
- food & photography - a perfect combination i think. (plus recipes!)
- i've been thinking about my own personal style a lot lately & found this post to be quite enlightening.
- love love love this tiny apartment featured on a cup of jo! i followed erin's blog right away.
- finding the perfect red lipstick for you. (i'm still on the search!)

many different things
anyways, the photo is of my cellphone today at 11:11am when there were all ones in the date - wooo hooo! lol.
so the mini getaway with my sister was good : ) very relaxing. we actually stayed in most of the time all cozy in bed watching movies (vampires suck, scott pilgrim vs. the world, the book of eli, going the distance)....yeah. oh & we got tattoos from the quarter machine & made rice crispy treats from marshmallows & frosty flakes from the dollar store. oh yes, big spenders here! hehe.
once we returned home, i was greeted by wendy bearing gifts:
she rocks. i mean, look at her!
whew! that was a long post. sorry about that! but now i get to look at all of your blogs! i haven't in a while now...
replies:
van: hello! going traveling on the train is always fun. there are many beautiful sights you get to see : )
amy: thanks amy! oh & that movie looks good huh? neat little fact about my big fat greek wedding!
natalie: hehe thanks & we did.
dandelionkisses: we love you! you know where we went : ) "keira & carey! what more could you ask for?" - my thoughts exactly!
pauline: oh good! i'm glad it made it to you. you are welcome! & yes, i did make it myself. you know what? she kind of does! well, at least how my sister looks in that photo. because we were talking about that photo of her (my sister) after we took it & thought that it didn't look like her (my sister). oh & thank you (i'm blushing : )).
charlie love: thanks!! we did : )
sarah~mechelle: that's so true! sisters are the best : ) my housemate had the maps in her garage for a long time & gave them to me after she saw some of the envelopes i made with them.
inside the cabinet of wonder: yes get some of the film nicola! i'm so glad they are doing it. & i can't wait for the colored film this year! i LOVE maggie, & like keira : ) but i've never heard of the guy....
the kate: hello! the impossible project packaging is so creative! art in itself.
christine: hello! oh yes - a lot of people are waiting to see the movie until after the book. that's smart i think : )
sarah: yes it is so expensive! i'm very thankful to the impossible project, because i would have given up on polaroid too.
alexia: get some too!! it's not that expensive from the impossible project! : )
carissa: hello! ohhh : ) thanks. i must say, i was a little bashful when i saw that you made a comment on that post. hehe.
clark: why, thank you! i just love my blackbird fly : )
